19 Jun Unmanned Life’s AI for Autonomy Platform is now the Leading SaaS Platform for 5G Applications
Unmanned Life is now trusted and backed by the US, UK and EU governments
and its Autonomy-as-a-Service platform used by major Fortune 500 companies,
uniquely positioning the company as the leading game changer in the 5G era
5G is not the future. It’s here and rapidly increasing its global footprint.
Market leaders like Nokia are actively engaged in almost a 100 commercial 5G projects with leading Telco providers across every continent. In Asia, KT Corp, South Korea’s largest wireless operator, has launched the ‘world’s first nationwide commercial 5G wireless network’ with enterprises and consumers now actively using the network. In the US, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon have each turned on their 5G networks in select cities and rolling out more throughout 2019 and 2020. And you know the wait for 5G is finally over, when AT&T and Uber are joining hands to test how 5G can play a role in next generation electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles along with enterprise drones for cargo transport. Goldman Sachs estimates that the global 5G Market will reach $100B by 2026 and the number of global IoT connections will reach 25 billion by 2025. What is more important is how 5G will transform existing business models and create new revenue stream for enterprises.
In 2019, Unmanned Life and its Autonomy-as-a-Service platform for 5G has gained the official backing and the trust and credibility that comes with that, from the world’s most influential governments and economies on the frontline of the transformation in the 5G era, the US, UK & EU.
The US Government in June 2019 has selected to support us as a company to scale-up in the US – they will work with us to help our technology proliferate, supporting our funding, business development, operational scaling and regulatory needs. We have already been nationally recognized by the UK government as a disruptive deep tech start-up, receiving full backing from the UK government and both national awards. In Europe, Unmanned Life has recently been appointed the official Autonomy-a-Service partner by the European Union for its flagship, high visibility, 5G consortium to roll-out 5G Autonomy-as-a-Service across the EU, alongside industrial giants like Airbus, Nokia, Thales, Orange.
This support from the worlds’ leading governments is far more than a stamp of endorsement, it is a recognition of the deep potential of the Unmanned Life technology platform in creating ground-breaking opportunities for different industries in these advanced economies on the cusp of transformative change driven by 5G. This support speaks volumes to the trust that Unmanned Life has garnered globally, while still a young bootstrapped start-up in the 5G and autonomy space, through sheer technological excellence, strategic brilliance and consistency in execution and delivery.
In 2019, the world’s leading Fortune 500 giants in the Telco, Supply Chain and Transport sectors have selected Unmanned Life as their key partner and have chosen our AI for Autonomy SaaS platform as their platform of choice for their 5G and autonomous applications and services roll-outs.
The Unmanned Life platform is an Artificial Intelligence based, hardware-agnostic, SaaS platform that can deploy and manage large, commercial-grade, fully autonomous swarms of varied types of robots, drones and vehicles that work together collaboratively on Industry 4.0 scenarios, through a single user interface, over Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G. This application flexibility and technical scalability has allowed Unmanned Life to blaze a trail in the goldrush to usher in the autonomous economy as a pioneer of Autonomy-as-a-Service over 5G. As different industries map out their 5G journeys, Unmanned Life, a 3 year-old UK deep-tech startup, has carved out its own 5G trajectory right from the early days of 5G betas in large enterprises.
In Europe last year, British Telecom (BT), Verizon and Ericsson partnered with Unmanned Life to conduct the World’s First Fully Autonomous Transatlantic 5G Low Latency Drone Swarm. The project demonstrated autonomous control and management of a fleet of drones in central London, which was launched from the US by Verizon, on a dedicated 5G network slice within BT’s network. This proof-of-concept validated that these techniques can deliver mission critical services that require ultra-low latency and high availability to achieve real-time feedback loops that enable remote operations. The use cases were enabled by Unmanned Life’s AI driven autonomous platform, and together, the companies showed how emergency response teams from different countries can deploy and control their drone fleets in a disaster zone remotely.
In a similar partnership in the US last year, at Operation Convergent Response(OCR), a global public safety conference, Unmanned Life demonstrated its latest technology in collaboration with Verizon and Nokia, in an emergency response scenario by deploying a fully autonomous multi-drone swarm to assist the rescue teams. Each drone in the drone swarm had performed a different task such as providing reconnaissance through a live video feed to filming in real-time the unfolding actions at the rescue site, to delivering emergency supplies. This partnership has continued to open up channels of collaboration between Verizon and Unmanned Life.
Building on our success with BT, Ericsson, Nokia, Verizon and Telefónica, Unmanned Life has been selected in 2019 as one of the top-15 fast-growing companies chosen to work directly with Deutsche Telekom. Through his collaboration, Unmanned Life will integrate Deutsche Telekom’s 5G infrastructure and the MobiledgeX platform to control a swarm of autonomous drones with centimetre-precision landing accuracy using sensors placed on the ground, demonstrating capabilities for smart cities use cases such as infrastructure inspection, public safety and autonomous emergency response services.
In the EU public sector, Unmanned Life has been selected as a partner of choice for the ‘5G!Drones’ program, the European Union’s flagship 5G Autonomy-as-a-Service program, with some of the leading industrial leaders including Nokia, Orange, Thales, Airbus, Frequentis and others. The programs will deploy UAV Autonomy-as-a-Service use-cases covering 5G services in the areas of Traffic Management, Public Safety, Situation Awareness and Remote connectivity across Europe. One thing is certain, 5G will change the game for everyone; and partnerships between innovators and operators will play a pivotal role in 5G adoption.
Unmanned Life’s partnerships in the public and private sectors across continents, with private enterprises and governments who have placed their trust in us, uniquely positions the company for success as a central player in shaping and driving forward the autonomous economy in the 5G era, across the globe.
