April 3-5, 2018, at The Ritz Carlton Pentagon City
As of next Tuesday, Unmanned Life is participating in Postal Vision 2020 to reinvent the American Postal Ecosystem of the Future. It has not been even a year since we have opened our very first office in the US [San Francisco] and next week (2nd -5th April) we are going to be present at the largest Postal and Logistics event along with major players such as UPS, FedEx, Amazon, Accenture, PostNL and more.
The initiative of Postal Vision 2020 aims to rebuild perception of the postal sector and its potential progress in the future. They have identified key areas which are having the major influence on shaping the ecosystem of the future. Each one of them is already going through significant changes, which are resulting in a larger sectorial impact. Four main topics will be:
- · Postal Platform
- · Digital Transformation
- · Delivery Dynamics
- · Cross-Border eCommerce
A survey of over 2,000 online shoppers carried out in December 2016 reveals:
- · 38% of people have had a parcel arrive late – including more than one in ten (16%) who paid for premium delivery service.
- · More than 1 in 10 have received damaged items.
- · More than 1 in 5 had a parcel go missing
- · 28% had a parcel left in an unsecured location
- · 28% were at home but had a note through the door saying the parcel couldn’t be delivered.
Our autonomous Pop-up Sorting Solution disrupts current business models by dramatically reducing the required capital expenditure, offering enhanced capacity at peak seasons and a modular solution that decreases operational expenditure. In comparison to old-fashioned conveyor belts, the autonomous pop-up sorting is an asset-light solution that can be considered as an “unfold your tent” solution. You can move your sorting centre in 24hs. For all these reasons, we have been awarded Best Startup Innovation in 2017.
“There are many excellent start-ups innovating the postal and logistics space, however, what Unmanned Life is doing is truly game-changing for the whole industry” Bernhard Bukovc, Chairman of the Postal Innovation Platform
