Mobile World Live is the global portal for the biggest developments in the telecommunications industry and the latest news on the most exciting innovations. It streams interviews and crucial analysis from the leading companies of the industry, such as Verizon, T-Mobile, Intel Corporation, AT&T, Ericsson and Samsung Electronics.
It is the voice of the GSMA, the Global System for Mobile Communications, and acts as the collective voice for mobile operators around the world, uniting over 750 operators with over 350 companies in a worldwide ecosystem.
At the height of the GSMA Mobile World Congress of the Americas 2018, in the heart of the Los Angeles Convention Center, Kumardev Chatterjee, CEO of Unmanned Life was interviewed by Mobile World Live in an exclusive one-to-one, on Autonomy-as-a-Service and how the 5G enabled platform will empower the Autonomous Economy and 5G future.

Against the backdrop of Innovation City, the beating heart of the MWCA18 where the biggest and best companies were showcasing the latest in cutting-edge disruptive mobile technology, Unmanned Life were launching the world’s first and only Autonomy-as-a-Service platform over 5G.
Kumardev Chatterjee explained the concept of Autonomy-as-a-Service, the ability to develop and deploy autonomous solutions with simple, cost-effective and user-friendly technology. Autonomy-as-a-Service is effectively a swarm of different robots, rovers, drones or any IoT device, working together as an autonomous workforce.
“Managing the complexity of missions where robots and people work together in a safe and reliable fashion”
At the MWCA18, and across various tech, telecommunications and AI conferences across the globe, the central issue shaping the future is 5G. The Economist described the next generation of low latency reliable connection as offering “users no less than the perception of infinite capacity”. In order for 5G to create the hyperconnected society of the future, we need the Autonomy-as-a-Service software platform.
The Platform can be deployed across sectors, with autonomous use case solutions in industrial management, surveillance, monitoring, drone-based parcel delivery and any instance connecting humans and cobots.
“The beast that brings together 5G, IoT and the end user”
The software which is AI-driven, sits between 5G and the end-user, thereby providing a cloud of connectivity to empower autonomous solutions. The Platform interconnects IoT devices, creating a hyperconnected ecosystem of robots and people.
“Bringing the ecosystem together and delivering Autonomy-as-a-Service”
Unmanned Life is one of the pioneering pillars of the 5G future, and of the enormous impact on the global economy ahead. Autonomy-as-a-Service is not simply a solution, nor a Platform, it is the vision of a shared 5G future. Where the collective concept of work will be transformed and collaboration with robots will allow humans to refocus their priorities.
The future is Autonomous.
