London Tech Week kicks off for Unmanned Life

London is being rocked by the biggest European Tech Week of the year, and Unmanned Life has been at the epicentre!

London Tech Week kicked off on Monday morning, launched by London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who brought attention to the role of London as “capital of AI”, after the report by CognitionX was published. London is the perfect backdrop for this week-long festival celebrating the latest in technology and hosting delegates from around the world, and there will be hundreds of events across the city, from summits, conferences and expos to exclusive networking galas and receptions.

For Unmanned Life, the week began on Tuesday morning when CEO Kumardev Chatterjee and COO Nicholas Zylberglajt attended the Good Growth Summit. Unmanned Life was invited to join other leader of high growth tech companies, to a this key event to hear talks from inspirational speakers including Ann Cairns from Mastercard, Katherine Oliver of Bloomberg Associates, and Rosemary Leith with the World Wide Web Foundation. The room was packed full of attendees keen to garner business advice, build connections and draw on the experiences of the speakers. We had the great pleasure of connecting with Sherry Coutu, the inspirational educator and Angel investor, who was named Most Influential Women in UK IT 2017, and Barclay’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2017, what a privilege and an honour.

The event was supported by the London Mayor as part of his #Behindeverygreatcity campaign. It was a great morning, full of interesting speeches and good company, and a perfect start to the week!

The day was only just getting started for the Unmanned Life team, some of whom were already at ExCEL in East London, the main venue for London Tech Week. This was the heart of the festival, and home to the biggest events of the week, including Project Kairos, part of TechXLR8, which started today and will run until Thursday 14th of June.

Standing in the enormous exhibition and convention centre, located on a 100-acre site, London´s “unique global status as the capital of finance, business, government and technology” was clear to see. London Tech Week is bringing together disruptive innovations transforming traditional industries, and nowhere is the significance of the event clearer than at this hive of the latest in tech.

Project Kairos, is the “supreme moment” and the central Start-up event at London Tech Week´s flagship show: TechXLR8. TechXLR8 is bringing together the biggest new companies and the latest in cutting edge technology, and Unmanned Life are excited to be showcasing our vision of Autonomy-as-a-Service and our innovative software platform to the perfect audience.

As the sun went down, the day wasn´t over for the team! Unmannned Life was one of the privileged few to be invited to the Department of International Trade Reception, an exclusive networking event bringing together international delegates, CEOs and executives of leading tech companies, and Government Ministers.

It was an excellent evening for Unmanned Life, who had many interesting conversations, and had the privilege of meeting Matt Hancock, Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport for the United Kingdom, and MP of West Suffolk. During his time in Government, MP Matt Hancock has overseen the expansion of apprenticeships and championed the digital transformation of the Government, and is responsible for broadcasting, creative industries, cyber and the tech industry. In addition, what an honour to meet the first MP to have created a smartphone app, won a horse race and made it to the North Pole! The reception took place in the Science Museum, in a location with spectacular views over the capital of AI and tech unicorns!
