Postal Vision 2020, April 3-5, 2018 at The Ritz Carlton Pentagon City
Unmanned life contributed to the transformation of the Postal System at Postal Vision 2020 during last week. Autonomy-as-a-Service reached the visions of the biggest industry giants and the most influencing leaders during the 3-day conference that started last Tuesday in Washington at The Ritz Carlton Pentagon City. Postal Vision 2020 reinforced our position among the game-changer companies, leading the whole industry to a whole new era of autonomous operations and sorting management 4.0.
Our Co-founder and CEO Kumardev Chatterjee was invited to participate in several key activities throughout the conference. Our week started at the workshop on “The future of Location and Last Mile Delivery” that was led by the US Post’s Open Innovation Group and Postal Innovation Platform at USPS OIG’s headquarters. The leaders gathered to discuss the future of delivery and the tools and innovations empowering operators to govern the last mile in transition. The participants from Escher Group, Package.ai, Smart Mile, and Esri alongside with Kumardev, took into consideration how the market forces, technology, and customer behaviour are transforming delivery as the last mile morphs into a dynamic space where delivery time and location are no longer a given.
The first conference day at Postal Vision 2020 was kicked off at Postal Pitch Start-Up Event. Being awarded as the Best Start-Up Innovation of the year 2017 at Post-Expo, Kumardev was invited to share his advice and experiences to this year’s finalists. He also gave a full overview on the company and explained how the award and Postal Innovation Platform have supported our growth as a company.
At the end of the week, Kumardev showcased Autonomy-as-a-Service in a panel discussion together with Jessica Raines [USPS OIG], George Miller[BYD], Shipton Bogle [ShipBob], Sverker Lindbo [Ocado]. They talked about product development and its journey to the disruptive change of how the postal and logistical processes will be handled in the future. Kumardev brought out how our Autonomous Pop-Up Sorting Solution is being implemented to existing warehouses, bringing multiple benefits that can be seen directly in the ROI, time and cost management, to mention a few.
As the highlight of the week, we were honoured to announce in front of the USPS, Die Post, La Poste, Swiss Post, Posti, Accenture, Esri and others that one of the most influencing representatives from the postal industry, Bernhard Bukovc, has officially joined to Unmanned Life as the Chairman of newly formed Advisory Board for Postal and Logistics. Bernhard is also a Chairman of well-known Postal Innovation Platform (PIP) and Postal Pitch Programme that is supported by partners such as United Nations, Universal Postal Union, Die Post, La Poste, Swiss Post and many others. The whole institution of the board is in response to our increasing profile at the highest levels of market leaders in the sector as well as the growing demand for our solutions.
“We carefully select who we bring on board at Unmanned Life. Bernhard´s advice at the strategic level, as he does with several CEOs in the industry, as well as the strength and quality of his network, will be key in Unmanned Life’s rapidly growing journey in this sector.” Kumardev Chatterjee, Founder and CEO of Unmanned Life
