15 Mar Unmanned Life closing quarter one at the industry leading events
The last weeks of quarter one have turned out to be extremely donating and full of success. After a very outstanding week at MWC18, we have disrupted in several industry-leading events both in Europe and US. Through a live demo, speaking slots, pitches and panel discussions, our global team has actively shared our vision of autonomous future, enabled by Autonomy-as-a-Service (AtaS) solutions. Take a closer look at what we have been up to and discover where to find us next week:
Canso ATM week is the world’s largest international air traffic management (ATM) exhibition and conference. Organised by the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) in partnership with the Air Traffic Control Association (ATCA) it brings together the world’s leading product developers, experts, stakeholders, and air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and Aviation thought leaders.
Last Thursday our tech team, together with our CEO Kumardev Chatterjee showed again the disrupting power of autonomy-as-a-service and our AI-driven platform. U-life was invited to participate in a panel discussion about what is on the horizon in the use of commercial drones in short and long-term together with representatives from Facebook, Uber among others. The discussion was concentrated on how the introduction of commercial drones into airspace has significant implications, prompting the development of new strategies in air traffic management (ATM) to meet these new entrants demands and expectations. In order to gain a deeper understanding of the drone industry and it’s current and potential impact on operations, drone users, drone developers and UAS traffic management (UTM) innovators shared their view on the current state of affairs, and what is envisioned for the next 10 years.
After the panel, each representative gave a keynote about their vision of the use of commercial drone solutions in the future. Our CEO ended the session with a full overview of autonomy-as-a-service solutions. As the highlight moment of the day, we performed a fully successful live demo of Remote Autonomous Drone Operations indoors right at the core of Canso, indoors over the cloud and 4G networks, making a perfect end-to-end connection without GPS, beacons and external cameras, using only our AI-driven software, controlled directly over the cloud from Brussels.
At the end of last February, we proved how our platform enables to control a feed of drones over the 5G transatlantic connection in a collaboration among BT, Verizon, Ericsson, and King´s College London. It made possible the world´s first transatlantic mission-critical services globally using 5G. These use cases are enabled by an AI-driven autonomous platform provided by Unmanned Life. Together, the companies showed how emergency response teams from different countries can immediately deploy and control their drone fleets in a remote disaster zone.
South By Southwest is an annual festival and conference that dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals. The event, is an essential destination for global professionals, features sessions, showcases, screenings, exhibitions, including a variety of networking opportunities. SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.
Each year, different trends emerge from SXSW programming and act as identifiers for where we’re at and where we’re headed. AI and new technologies embody the realm of possibilities where intelligence empowers and enables technology.
Unmanned Life was selected to pitch in the category of enterprise and smart data in front of the innovative audience as one of the top 3 alliance companies in the Accelerator event. Shortlisted and selected from over thousands of applicants, we got invited to take the stage as the only European AI company in the event. Our CEO Kumardev Chatterjee explained in a brief pitch about autonomy-as-a-service and the game-changing solutions that it brings to the industries changing the operations of tomorrow.
IATA World Cargo Symposium
The World Cargo Symposium, WCS, held 13th-15th of March, is the largest and most prestigious annual event bringing together key stakeholders from the entire air cargo supply chain. This gathering in Dallas also serves to raise the profile of air cargo with governments, helping to ensure that cargo has the regulatory environment and infrastructure needed to successfully drive growth.
Our COO Nicholas Zylberglajt was invited to the WCS to Dallas together with FACEs (Future Air Cargo Executives) that is IATA’s response to the industry’s need for young, aspiring, and diverse professionals. The program aims at attracting, retaining, and developing a bright and diverse pool of individuals to prepare them to become the next generation of leaders in the Cargo Industry. The programme enables a modernization to the industry from inside but also with the contribution from external disruptors with solutions like Autonomy-as-a-Service that is making possible the connection of autonomous robots, connected workers and augmented reality to deliver the AI-driven autonomous solutions that the industry expects.
During the week FACEs organized multiple events and discussion sessions where also our COO Nicholas Zylberglajt shared our vision of autonomous future enabled by AI-driven software platform to the highly selected audience and invitees. Also, we were honored to see that IATA is supporting our vision of autonomy-as-a-service as the pioneering solution for tomorrow’s warehouse operations.
What’s coming next
The impact and future of autonomy-as-a-service solutions have been seen in multiple sectors during this quarter one. Several interesting conferences and events are already attended, and plenty is still ahead of us.
London advertising week, known as the world’s largest conference for advertising, marketing, and technology in London. The importance of AI and autonomous solutions have been put on a stand in this year’s edition. AW TechX offers an awe-inspiring, hands-on journey through interactive installations, innovations and bleeding edge technology including haptics, holograms, AI, VR, and AR.
Throughout the week, TechX will bring them insights about what the emerging technologies represent and, more importantly, how they can be used to reach today’s consumers. We will be sharing our insight and vision of the operations of tomorrow with autonomy-as-a-service solutions.
Our CTO Kim Clement will be taking the stage at the start-up pitching competition on Monday 19th. We have been shortlisted among the last semifinalists to share our award-winning solutions to the audience formed by investors, company representatives and innovation scouts. Moreover, we will be exhibiting during the whole week. Find us at stand 20.
Named as the best Start-Up Innovation of the year 2017 by Postal Industry in Post Expo, we are looking forward to attending the next Post and Parcel Conference in Berlin 20th-22nd of March.
There through presentations, collaborative discussion, innovative networking and more, relationships will be built while key emerging trends are highlighted. The topics that this year’s conference will be talking about is concentrated on dealing with disruptive new entrants; cross-border delivery; connected infrastructure; crowd shipping; the future of the branch network; regulatory change; changing customer expectations and much more.
Our Co-Founder and COO Nicholas Zylberglajt will be one of the key speakers on Wednesday 21st of March. He will be giving a full overview of autonomy-as-a-service, provided by our AI-driven autonomous software that enables the integration of different kind of drones to create autonomous fleets, being the game-changer in the post industry and transportation.
We are looking forward to ending the first and very successful quarter one at these events. See you there!
