Mobile Connectivity & Cloud Architect

Your Mission: 

Unmanned Life is seeking a talented Mobile Connectivity and Cloud Architect with several years of professional experience; who is eager for an exciting new opportunity in a fast-growing business at its early stages. This role is ideally Barcelona based, with 3 days per week in the local office and regular travel required.  

Mobile connectivity and Cloud Architect – A talented hybrid software/network engineer with strong academic knowledge, background and professional experience working with mobile networks, IOT protocols, and public and private cloud environments and with a high understanding of cyber-security aspects, who is eager to join a fantastic opportunity in a fast-growing business at early stages where you will set the footprint in your domain.

Responsibilities: 

• To support other teammates in all the network aspects or issues that can arise in our deployments.
• To deploy and maintain Unmanned Life applications in public or private cloud infrastructures.
• To optimize network, cloud, and security aspects in our deployments across all customers.
• To propose and assess ideas and translate them into methods, procedures, and technologies of interest to improve and enhance our products, platform, and solutions in all the aspects related to network optimization, cloud deployment, and security aspects.
• To work as part of a multi-functional Technology team on a range of solutions for autonomous systems including drones and ground mobile robotics.
• To own stakeholder engagement and relationships with partners, suppliers, and clients.
• To process, assess and synthesize information including preparation of technical documentation, with problem diagnostics and technical analyses in your domain.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor or master’s in Computer Science or Telecommunications or a related technical discipline
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with mobile networks, understanding of concepts like public/private APNs, 5G technologies, and telco environments.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the field of networking protocols and Cloud deployment
• Knowledge and experience with IOT protocols and publish-subscribe models (like DDS or MQTT)
• Knowledge and experience with HTTP-based communication protocols like API (REST or SOAP) and WebSocket
• Strong Linux experience and knowledge i.e. Linux architecture, maintenance, and administration of Linux servers.
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of network devices, or applications such as web servers, load balancers, or databases
• Amazon Web Services and/or other cloud platforms knowledge and experience
• Containerization & Virtualization – Proficiency in containerization tools with a good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes. Should have the knowledge to deploy and run application software on docker and Kubernetes.
• Programming – Should have general programming skills and knowledge of languages such as C++ and Python.
• Knowledge and experience of best practices in coding standards
• Ability to work and liaise in a multi-cultural and international team.
• Excellent teamworking, collaborative spirit, and communication skills.
• Proper time management and organizational skills.
• Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and IPv4 & IPv6
• Knowledge of ROS2 and DDS is a plus
