        About the role:

        Robotics Research Engineer in Control and Navigation – A talented robotics engineer with a strong academic knowledge, background and professional experience in control and navigation algorithms, techniques, methods and technologies; who is eager to join a fantastic opportunity in a fast-growing business at early stages where you will set the footprint in your domain.

        Responsibilities and Key Duties:

        • To work as part of a multi-functional Technology team on a range of solutions for autonomous systems including drones and ground mobile robotics.
        • To conduct state-of-the-art research and innovation in control and navigation for ground and aerial robotics to bring novel ideas and applicability to the technology roadmap and portfolio.
        • To propose and assess these novel ideas and translate them into algorithms, methods, and technologies of interest to improve and enhance our products, platform, and solutions. 
        • To design and implement the software for our robotic solutions in Proof-of-Concepts and demonstrations activities, in research and innovation projects such as the European Commission.
        • To conduct thorough software and system testing and verification activities related to your domain, ensuring quality of delivery and adherence to company practices and standards.
        • To professionally document the code and adhere to configuration management practices.
        • To own stakeholder engagement and relationships with project partners and 3rd party suppliers.
        • To process, assess and synthesise information including preparation of technical documentation, with problem diagnostics and technical analyses in your domain.
        • To participate in team development processes as well as contributing towards improvements. 

        Skills and Qualifications:

        • Bachelor or master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field to Robotics.
        • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field (PhD is considered as experience) in control and navigation algorithms, methods, techniques, technologies, and systems.
        • Strong control engineering background in classic control and strategies as well as in more modern theories and practices such use of behaviour trees, AI, and ML techniques.
        • Strong robotics navigation engineering background in commonly used navigation data and sensors such as GNSS, IMU/INS, among others.
        • Good track record in publications in robotic related conferences and journals such as ICRA, IROS, IEEE Journal of Robotics, IEEE Transaction on Robotics, and so on.
        • Excellent knowledge and skills with Linux and/or real-time OS systems.
        • Knowledge and experience with ROS1/ROS2, C++ and Python development in Linux environment.
        • Knowledge and experience of best practises in coding standards as well as use of documentation tools such as Doxygen.
        • Ability to work and liaise in a multi-cultural and international team.
        • Excellent teamworking, collaborative spirit and communication skills.
        • Proper time management and organisational skills.

        Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

        • PhD in the domain of control and navigation for ground and/or aerial robotics.
        • Large experience in executing or leading research and innovation projects, particularly under the European Commission framework.
        • Experience working under different Software Development Life Cycles including Agile and waterfall methodologies such as Scrum method and V-model.
        • Experience in undertaking applied research and innovation in large corporations.

          • Good track record in publications in drones and aviation related conferences and journals such as SESAR Innovation Days, as well as being active in relevant working groups.
          • Ability to work and liaise in a multi-cultural and international team.

          Preferred Skills and Qualifications

          • PhD in the domain of safety and airspace integration for aerial robotics.

            Responsibilities and Key Duties:

            • You will work as part of a multi-functional Technology Team with a focus on DevOps to increase the productivity of workspace in our software production.
            • This is a new and key role in our Technology Team, and as a leader in this domain, you will be responsible for the DevOps workflows and toolchains including the Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) processes for the UML software implementation lifecycle, including the following tasks:
              • Understanding stakeholders needs and convey them to developers and engineers.
              • Assessing and building new development tools and infrastructure.
              • Assessing and creating mechanisms to improve efficiency and quality into the CI/CD processes, including automated testing and software updates/distributions.
              • Assessing and ensuring systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.

            • To work independently and with the team to define and deliver the CI/CD and DevOps methodology.

            • Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience in software implementation in complex environments, and a minimum of 5 years as DevOps engineer or similar software engineering role.
            • Proficient with Git and Git workflows as well as project/application management such as Jira.
            • Excellent knowledge and experience in DevOps tools, CI/CD systems and automation testing frameworks such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, TestOps, Gradle, Selenium and Nagios.

              • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
              • Ability to work and liaise in a multi-cultural and international team.
              • Know-how in robotics hardware, software, Linux and/or real-time operating systems.

                Under the guidance of your line manager and other senior members of the Technology team:

                • You will work as part of a multi-functional Technology team on a range of solutions for autonomous systems including drones and ground mobile robotics gaining practical and in field experience like no other.
                • You will support the team to design and implement software functionality, to create innovative and complex systems and solutions to address the challenges faced by our customers.
                • You will conduct thorough software and system testing to ensure quality of delivery as well as adherence to company practices and standards.
                • You will integrate and deploy the software and robotic solutions in commercial environments and research frameworks, as well as contributing to validation and commissioning campaigns.
                • You will need to keep up to date with state-of-the-art research outcomes in the field to bring novel ideas to Company’s technology implementations
                • You will be a team player who is able to collaborate throughout the development process and ensure that software meets real-world usage scenarios.

                Key Duties

                  About the Role

                  This internship assignment, we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about communication & marketing and enjoys working in a dynamic environment. Moreover, our colleague has to be detail-oriented and comfortable with multi-tasking and travelling. Hence, this is a fantastic opportunity for the proactive, highly motivated and career driven individual.

                  Responsibilities

                  • Designing and implementing a communications strategy for our scale up across Europe and the US;
                  • Designing and executing communication campaigns to support the business and marketing team efforts, events and demos;
                  • Building a strong online presence across online channels including a well-developed social marketing and SEO positioning;
                  • Monitoring market trends to suggest new online media opportunities that may benefit the company;
                  • Producing reports based on analytics tools and preparing presentations,
                  • Attending events, exhibitions and forums in Europe and the US.

                  Competencies

                  • Intermediate editing knowledge and organising photographs and videos;
                  • Proficiency in WordPress (CSS, HTML & PHP, responsive);
                  • Native or fluent English language skills (other languages are highly welcome);
                  • Proficiency in social media platforms such as: LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
                  • MS Office PowerPoint & Prezi;
                  • Google Analytics, HootSuite;
                  • Adobe (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).

                    Unmanned Life is looking for a talented Business Intern to work with the Management, Business and Technology teams, supporting these departments in achieving their performance objectives and driving the company to achieve its mission.

                    The Business Intern will report directly to either the CEO, COO or Director of Business Development & Marketing (TBC) and will gain valuable development and experience across the areas of Business Development, Operations, Marketing and Projects Delivery. In the past, the company has offered certain special interns a permanent role at the company upon graduation. The successful intern could be working on multiple tasks of an analytical nature over the duration of their placement. Some examples of the type of projects the intern could work on under the relevant company executive are:

                    • Target customer as well as competitor research and analysis to support company strategy.
                    • Support Business Development with specific customer accounts i.e. meeting preparation, execution, follow up, meeting minutes etc.
                    • Support the analysis and selection of location of new offices for the company.
                    • Proposition development to secure new commercial opportunities/projects for the company.
                    • Preparation, drafting and execution of Marketing Communications to enhance and promote the company brand.
                    • Day to day ad-hoc operational and projects delivery support.
                    • Analysis of software tools and selection for Customer Relationship Management helping the business development department to better engage target customers and improve sales.
