Unmanned Life at the core of Germany’s 5G industrial ecosystem
Unmanned Life’s pioneering technology has been chosen to demonstrate the power of its 5G-enabled Autonomy-as-a-Service platform at the opening ceremony.
Munich, 25 March 2021 – Wayra Germany and Telefónica Germany / O2, have opened its first 5G Tech Lab in the heart of Munich. Unmanned Life’s pioneering technology has been chosen to demonstrate the power of its 5G-enabled Autonomy-as-a-Service platform at the opening ceremony. Additionally, the company has been granted a permanent space at the lab for Telefónica’s enterprise customers to come and witness the benefits of adopting autonomous 5G-solution for their industrial operations.
The opening of the lab is a milestone for Wayra and Telefónica Germany / O2 as it is well positioned to lead one of the most attractive telco markets in Europe. Germany has around 300 industrial robots per 10,000 employees, far higher than the global average of 70 robots per 10,000 employees. Certainly, the country has the highest proportion of industrial robots in Europe, and the fourth highest in the world. The global effects of COVID-19 hit the German manufacturing sector arising the importance of having an industrial software approach to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
“Technology such as Unmanned Life software platform will change the way autonomous robotics is being deployed by large corporations. Convening the power of Telefònica’s 5G expertise, Wayra’s 5G Tech Lab innovation space and Unmanned Life’s platform, we will be able to serve with fully autonomous solutions for multiple sectors in Germany, especially in the industry 4.0 area”, Florian Bogenschütz, Wayra Germany CEO.
Unmanned life demonstrated its capabilities during the opening ceremony, showing how an interoperable software approach can make industry 4.0 a reality. The flexibility of the platform to operate across sectors, networks and technologies has been proven in a remote demonstration, deployed fully autonomous from Brussels, Belgium and live-streamed in Munich Germany.
“We are very proud to have been chosen to demonstrate how 5G is going to improve efficiency and create new business opportunities in such a renowned country for industry, manufacturing and autonomation. We are happy to build the autonomous future here, hand-to-hand with Wayra and Telefónica Deutschland / O2”, Nicholas Zylberglajt, Unmanned Life CEO.
Joining forces with Wayra Germany and Telefónica Deutschland / O2 is fundamental to tackle an enormous market that is already mature on the robotic adoption but shows the necessity of autonomous solutions that seamlessly centralize all autonomous robotics operations. By convening Telefonica’s 5G ultra-reliable connectivity and Unmanned Life’s cutting-edge technology, we will be able to provide a product that can be utilized by multiple sectors in the German industrial landscape.
