As part of Telefonica’s portfolio, Unmanned Life was present in Malaga on the 16th-17th February at the Transfiere event. During the 2-day our VP Business and Marketing, Jorge Muñoz, talked about Unmanned Life’s contribution in building 5G enabled smart ports and logistics in the Iberic region.
“It is great to see that so many cities from Spain are welcoming and adapting sustainable solutions for smart cities and ports. Ports play a critical role in the global economy, moving up to 90% of all goods. In the ports and logistics industry, drone-based technology is gradually becoming a standard tool and Unmanned Life with its software for autonomous robotics is unleashing the full potential of drones in ports, improving safety, lowering costs, and increasing process efficiency.”
Jorge Muñoz, VP Business and Marketing
We want to thank Telefonica for giving us the opportunity to be a part of an event which allowed us to transfer our knowledge, reflection and share disruptive projects for innovation in logistics port environment. As a disruptive software platform offering the orchestration of drones and robotics, we have a duty to accelerate these practices by using our drone platform for public safety, and computer vision in surveillance, agriculture, and emergency response, whilst our autonomy with mobile robots tackles the increasing emissions from logistics and manufacturing.
Unmanned life is part of a ground-breaking collaboration that is helping to bring the UK Government-funded 5G LOGISTICS project to life under the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport’s 5G Testbed and Trials programme. Led by the West of England Combined Authority, 5G products and services are being developed to support operations at Bristol Port, exhibiting a smart and dynamic smart port environment. Security, traceability, and tracking of commodities within and across extendable virtual boundaries is the emphasis of the programme.
At the event we discussed how to manage the deployment and control of fleets of numerous unmanned vehicles such as drones and robots with Unmanned Life’s platform that takes advantage of the high-speed and low-latency networks provided by 5G to provide solutions related to the rescue of emergency, hybrid manufacturing, surveillance, and autonomous delivery of medical supplies, among others.
As a disruptive digital platform, it is our responsibility to revolutionise sectors, markets, and behaviours to address numerous sustainability concerns and lay the groundwork for a positive, safe, and responsible digital future. Our mission is to reinforce technology as a global ally in achieving sustainability goals using robots and automation, as well as the development of the most innovative solutions for smart cities and sustainable growth, to pave the way for a better and safer environment.
